To act as the discipline expert for Design for a particular work package or process.

Specialist Engineer - Design MRB



This opportunity, based at our

Prestwick

Responsibilities:
Reviews and approves the work of design team members and contractors to fulfil customer expectations. Identifies Design methods and techniques to be utilised for particular work packages. Defines Design requirements to be met for particular work packages. Defines specific Design skillset training required for a particular work package. Assesses potential Design tools and methods which could be utilised for the Business Unit and makes recommendations to senior management. Acts as coach/mentor to junior Design staff. Supports Chief Design Engineer in preparation for gate reviews.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Graduate in Engineering discipline with typically twelve years practical experience or equivalent recognised experience. Experience in applying tools, techniques and the use of specialised equipment. A thorough understanding of general theories and applications covering a broad knowledge of Design Engineering is required. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Company Procedures and standards relating to engineering, design, health & safety and environment. Proficient in relevant IT applications and software packages.

Decision Making Authority

Approves others work to ensure Company, Customer and Regulatory requirements are met. Identifies and implements methods and techniques to be used within own particular work area. Assesses and recommends methods and techniques to be used for the BU.
