The Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering is focused on undertaking high quality, groundbreaking research, and teaching. We are seeking to employ a Mechanical Technical CNC specialist to work in our Mechanical Services Workshop to provide technical support and expertise in manufacturing various mechanical parts to support, researchers, students, with various Project, Rigs and Equipment.

As a Mechanical Specialist Technician, you will be proficient in the use of current CNC machining centers, conventional workshop machine equipment and fabrication methods. You will use this knowledge to provide technical support for the design, development, build, test and calibration of unique mechanical equipment, dedicated instrumentation, and research rigs, including the preparation of CAD drawings and associated design.

The successful candidate will also take on the supervisory responsibilities for the workshop during periods when the full-time supervisors is unavailable.

You will be expected to follow best practice in the safe use and maintenance of the workshop facilities you will be working on and complete the required weekly safety checks on the equipment. You will be part of a dedicated team of mechanical engineering technical staff to ensure a flexible, high quality and timely service is provided to the schools many customers within an ever-changing research and teaching influenced environment.
