An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated pharmacist to join the Haematology Pharmacy Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.This role offers the candidate the chance to build significant clinical knowledge in the management of patients with haematological conditions (both malignant and non-malignant) alongside developing a range of advanced pharmacy skills including clinical trials, medicines governance and finance.Within our team the Specialist Clinical Pharmacists are enrolled into our highly recommended Systemic Anti-Cancer Verification Training Programme supported by the national British Oncology Pharmacy Association Passport. Prior experience in these fields is not required and the support you receive from your mentor's will be adapted based on your previous experience and current skills.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside leading clinical specialists on our inpatient wards and day case units gaining skills and knowledge valuable for future progression to advanced roles.Expected Shortlisting Date17/03/2025Planned Interview Date31/03/2025Main duties of the job- Provide a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient haematology and oncology wards- Undertake medicines reconciliation, targeted medicines review and facilitation of discharge for our patients- Have oversight of medicines management for both in and outpatient areas- Undertake ongoing training to develop your competency in the validation of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) ensuring safe, effective and efficient use and supply of haematology related SACT to the patients of Leeds and beyond.- Work alongside our pharmacy aseptics unit producing SACT and Parenteral Nutrition to the patients of LTHT- Support Advanced Clinical Pharmacists in other clinical work including medicines governance, finance and clinical trial implementation and oversight- Take on projects and 'link roles' with other parts of the pharmacy team such as medicines safety or antimicrobial stewardship- Supervise and support Foundation Pharmacists and Trainee Pharmacists currently on rotation within the Cancer TeamAbout usThe cancer services pharmacy team work together on a daily basis to ensure that some of our most complex and challenging treatments within Leeds Teaching Hospitals are delivered safely, efficiently and in a patient centered manner. Our team is made up of some highly experienced cancer pharmacists who have strong working relationships with the wider multi-disciplinary team. These pharmacists will support you in your development as a cancer pharmacist and due to our wide range of work our team provides lots of avenues for personal and professional development.We have a strong ethos of workforce development. Junior pharmacists are assigned a mentor to support them in their SACT verification training.
