Duties
Assist the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth food production and service.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards throughout all food preparation processes.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
Collaborate with team members to develop new menu items whilst following current existing recipes.
Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained, cleaned, and functioning properly.
Requirements
Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and food safety regulations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in both cooking and presentation.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for food production and an eagerness to learn new culinary skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
