New opening harleys bar and grill Exmouth.
We are currently looking to recruit a Sous Chef for our new opening of Harley's Bar and Grill in our new site: 13 High St, Exmouth, EX8 1NP.
We are planning on opening between end of May and the beginning of June, we can also offer full menu training at our flagship bar and grill which is in Paignton and will provide fuel money towards travel costs.
This is a full time position, our opening hours are Mon to Sunday from 8am till 9pm for food service. This is not a seasonal position as we are open thought out the whole year.
We are seeking talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of culinary techniques.
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
Main Responsibilities
Ensuring that food areas are set up for the day's business
Ensuring that staff are briefed and directed accordingly
Helping to train the staff to quality standard
Working closely with the Head chef to ensure that the finer details for successful service are in place
Working closely with the Head Chef to control stock, reduce wastage and manage the cost of labour/staff hours/ sending kitchen staff home when not needed.
Ensuring that Food and Beverage areas are cleared.
Handle guest complaints, requests and enquiries in a professional manner when needed.
Help create a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhere to the company's health and safety policies and procedures Key Skills and Experience
Keeping the kitchen areas to a 5 EHO standard when on shift
Kitchen paperwork and SFBB up to date.
Coming to work in a positive manner and attitude
Kitchen weekly cleaning list to be completed on shifts
All kitchen ordering with out over stocking or under ordering.
Covering the head chef's responsibilities when out of the business.
Other responsibilties
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu.
Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
Manage and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Assist in cost control measures by minimising waste and optimising ingredient usage.
Skills
Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management.
In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and management.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
