Solution Designer | S3 | CDO | Milton Keynes

We are seeking for a Solution Designer within CDO - Data Engineering Team. Within the Team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be designing on-prem and/or cloud solution covering data integration, transformation, controls, obfuscation, ETL, BI, Analytics in batch, near real time and real time.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with the other architecture teams (Enterprise, Technical, Data & Security Architecture), designers and will collaborate with Business and IT colleagues in Santander UK, as well as Santander Global Architecture. You will be working with other CDO designers and engineering resources to design reusable patterns and solutions with optimal controls to meet compliance requirement in addition to ensuring that solution works effectively in BAU and any issues can be resolved efficiently and effectively.

In addition to designing solution, you will be owning/supporting to establish and run design governance forum, where this forum will establish minimum design standards for entire CDO to implement.

Producing functional and technical architecture, high/low level solution designs for batch, near real-time and real time ETL, Reporting, ML solutions

Reviewing the designs that have been produced by Engineering Teams using guidance and patterns that have been provided to them by Architecture

Working with the Architects in other geographies and validating that solutions are aligned to the strategies of Santander UK (and Santander Group) and delivered in an agile way

Applying the necessary data governance and data architecture principles to the solution and effectively owning/supporting design governance forum for CDO

Providing optimal approach to migrate legacy solution to target bigdata, AWS platforms

Ensuring that the optimal TCO for the designed solution whilst ensuring there is a data driven approach is at the heart of all the solutions

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring.

Domain driven and data driven design experience, with the knowledge of the different framework like TOGAF

Strong understanding/proven experience of AWS and its services

Proven experience in defining & documenting As Is & Target Architecture and proposing go-to solution architecture and design

Considerable experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, with a track record of ingesting, transforming, processing, and extracting value from large volume of batch and streaming datasets

Experience of ETL tools: Informatica, A
I, Glue, Snowflake

Demonstrable experience of Data modelling and Data architecture

It would also be nice for you to have.

Collaboratively working with the stakeholders to help define & deliver strategic objectives & roadmaps

Experience and knowledge of Hadoop, Python, Spark and Scala

Data governance and relevant regulation for using and retaining data

Experience of using agile methodologies
