IT Solution Architect

Hybrid - attached to our office in Solihull or Hook, with regular UK travel

Full Time, Permanent

Salary - 65k-75k depending on experience.

You'll work at the heart of our bid teams to define and deliver robust technical architectures aligned with customer, security, and operational requirements. You'll take end-to-end ownership of IT solution design for bids and contracts, particularly within the Defence sector, and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture integrity and alignment with business goals.



As part of this you'll:



Lead the design and development of IT architectures based on customer needs and business goals

Capture and assess requirements to recommend fit-for-purpose solution components

Define and model system interactions, APIs, and service integrations

Act as Technical Design Authority across IT systems and solution components

Ensure solutions comply with Serco's architecture principles and governance frameworks

Collaborate closely with Information Assurance teams to meet security standards

Deliver comprehensive solution designs including cost and implementation plans

Support new business opportunities through solution development, bid governance, stakeholder alignment, and solution assurance through delivery



What you'll need to do the role:



A degree in an IT-related discipline

Strong understanding of applications architecture and Agile methodologies

Proven experience designing IT systems for Government bids and contracts

Familiarity with line of business applications such as Facilities Management, Asset Management and Case Management.

Knowledge of modern IT infrastructure, applications, and cloud technologies

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

A collaborative mindset and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment

Architectural qualifications (e.g., TOGAF, BCS or Zachman - desirable)

Experience working to MOD/Government IT standards (desirable)

Be willing to undergo security clearance (BPSS minimum)
