As a Barclays Integration Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for creating an architectural vision in keeping with the business providing a technical solution for customer and colleagues. In owning the technical solution, you will provide an end-to-end assurance that satisfies business needs. You will be working within a business area that has true customer and colleague impacts. Your architectural designs will change their banking and working lives for the better through technical designs that are truly based on their experiences.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xe2\x80\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. What will you be doing?

• You will be responsible for creating an architectural vision in keeping with the business providing a technical solution for customer and colleagues
• Owning own the architectural future of multiple technology platforms.
• Being the platform custodian, you will ensure that any developments align to the overall Barclays UK technology strategy.
• Using technology expertise that business area can trust to realise their aspirations as to how they can best drive their business forward in helping our customers.
• Working with Stakeholders to manage expectations
• Collaborating with a team of like-minded architects, encouraging each other to find the right technology solutions for the business areas
• Providing a fresh perspective that not only protects the brand but also re-energises Barclays as a bank with technology at its heart

What we\xe2\x80\x99 re looking for:

• Experience of shaping and defining solutions across disparate technologies that enable you to resolve a complex business issue
• A broad and deep knowledge of technologies (including infrastructure technologies) that are used by financial service providers.
• Expertise in C# with MVC, WPF, WCF, WinForm, MS-SQL Server, SSIS, Autosys, PowerShell, Cloud Technologies
• Expertise in at least one or more technologies used by the bank, specifically Salesforce or Cloud technology

Skills that will help you in the role:

• AWS Solution Architect certification \xe2\x80\x93 foundation level or higher is highly desirable.
• Experience of working with service management teams.
• Exposure to API design strategies both for internal and external customer usage

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we\'ve been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
