Job title: Software tester

Location: the job holder can be based in Leeds or Manchester

Do you perform testing on various software, document results, and conduct comparisons to expected results? Then we have a great opportunity for you.

The Software Tester will be responsible for designing and running tests on software usability. You will conduct tests, analyse the results, report observations and proposing solutions to the design team.

• Reviewing software requirements and preparing test scenarios
• Setup test environment, collaborate with business users for the necessary test data create test scripts and system setup in the test environment
• Executing tests on business user cases, software usability and integration tests with different systems (student information system, timetabling, Moodle, HR/Finance ERP)
• Analysing test results on usability, software functionality, system performance, database impacts, errors or bugs and potential software workarounds.
• Preparing reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the project/IT team
• Interacting with clients to understand product requirements and quality assurance on the software
• Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, software design, quality assurance approaches/practices and potential problems

• A bachelor\'s degree in computer science or related field
• Up-to-date knowledge of software test design, testing methodologies and software quality assurance methodologies
• Working knowledge of cloud software package testing techniques and compatibility with various software programs
• Working knowledge of excel data manipulation, SQL, Azure cloud development environment for test scripts automation and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Good organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset.
