The Role




Our Software division is currently looking for a mid-level web developer to join our Production Tools team, working on various in-house web-based products developed to assist our worldwide team of producers and artists in their pursuit of telling amazing stories! The ideal candidate should have a passion for programming and a proven ability to write clear, modular and maintainable code.


What you'll do:

Create simple and intuitive full-stack web applications Collaborate effectively with other developers, product managers, designers, engineers, stakeholders, and vendors on projects Mentor other Software engineers via code review and an inclusive planning process Play a key role in our Agile process by contributing to Sprint reviews and setting an example to the junior members of the team Take ownership of individual tasks and projects whilst managing your time effectively

Core Experience



Demonstrable experience of object-oriented programming with Javascript and Python or PHP Experience with at least one popular web back-end framework, ideally Django Experience with at least one modern front-end library or framework for SPAs, ideally ReactJS A strong understanding of SQL, ideally MySQL or PostgreSQL Able to work independently and self-organise Proven ability in designing applications with a focus on UX/UI

Desired Experience



Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field Attention to detail, from software architecture through to visual style and usability Experience working with cloud platforms ideally AWS and GCP Experience developing RESTful/JSON APIs Experience using Selenium or Cypress for automated web browser testing General GNU/Linux experience Experience of database schema design, debugging and performance issues Working in a structured development environment (agile, version control and code review)
