Software Architect

A leading organisation in the defence industry based out of Yeovil are looking for a highly skilled Software Architect to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the development of cutting-edge network security and communication appliances, with applications spanning government departments, telecommunications, and critical national infrastructure companies.

Software Architect Responsibilities:

• Lead requirements, design, implementation, and testing processes, ensuring high standards within schedule and estimates.
• Contribute to the design of technical solutions that push the boundaries of innovation.
• Take charge of software development initiatives, providing guidance and direction to your team.
• Oversee testing activities to verify the integrity and functionality of developed solutions.
• Ensure strict compliance with project processes and software development practices.
• Support System Test and Integration Activities, fostering teamwork.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate effective communication.
• Diagnose and resolve identified issues, enhancing the reliability of our systems.
• Accurately estimate development activities to manage resources efficiently.

Software Architect Skills and Experiences:

• Profound experience in Software Development Lifecycle, emphasiz=sing design and proficiency with relevant tools (e.g., UML design tools, code IDEs, source code control, defect reporting systems).
• Expertise in desktop-based applications (Java, Eclipse RCP, or C#/C++/Python).
• Proficiency in web-oriented applications and services (Java/C#, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, CSS, Apache middleware).
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design/development, including UML, SysML, or XML.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Software Architect Benefits:

• Base Salary \xc2\xa345,000-60,000 (dependant on skill set and experience)
