North Ayrshire Intensive Support Service Social Worker. An exciting opportunity has been created within North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership for the establishment of a new service for people with learning disabilities. Covering North Ayrshire, the Intensive Support Service (ISS) will offer specialist intervention, advice/consultation and training for and in relation to people with learning disabilities who are in need of more intensive support than is possible from within the existing Community Learning Disability Team. Clients will be people 16 years of age and over who have a diagnosed learning disability; experience challenges in accessing mainstream services; and require significant specialist input in order to prevent placement breakdown and/or hospital admission. The ISS will also support individuals to prepare for their return to a community placement (or the establishment of a new placement). In addition, it will have a lead role in reviewing clients placed out of area in order to ensure the appropriateness of current arrangements or the need for planning to expedite change. Collaboration with all the existing elements of the North Ayrshire Learning Disability Service will be key: this includes the Integrated Community Learning Disability Team; Inpatient Assessment and Treatment Unit; and Day Opportunities. The team will comprise of 2 WTE Nurse (Band 6) 1 WTE Nursing Support Worker (Band 3) 1 WTE Social Worker (Grade 10) 0.4 WTE Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) 0.4 WTE Occupational Therapist (Band 6) 0.2 WTE Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6) 0.1 WTE Consultant Psychiatrist.
