Social Worker / Amhp Senior Social Worker Casual

Brighton, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job introduction

CASUAL SOCIAL WORKER

CASUAL AMHP SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER

In our Adult Social Care social work service we passionately believe that putting relationship-based practice at the centre of everything we do enables us to provide consistent and quality support to citizens within the city so that they can lead independent and fulfilled lives. Brighton & Hove has a unique demographic which makes it a challenging yet very rewarding place to work. Working closely with our partner agencies, we continue to be at the forefront of making a positive difference in challenging times.

But we can\'t realise our ambition to become a centre of excellence and best practice without dedicated and motivated social workers. Does this sound like you?

Our work is very varied, and if you come to work with us you will have the opportunity to build a broad portfolio of experience, working with teams committed to your professional development. Our work includes, for example, trauma-informed and strengths-based practice with adults of all ages, people living with mental health needs and people who may be at risk of homelessness.

The Brighton & Hove AMHP service is a standalone team with an office base at Mill View Hospital. We\'re a close knit team who provide a robust, professional and high-quality 24-hour service to meet the Council\'s statutory duties.

The team is a forward-thinking team and were the very first AMHP Team in the country to use a smartphone app to complete statutory MHA forms..

Whilst the systems the AMHP\'s work within continue to pose challenges to their practice, AMHP\'s who have joined from other local authorities comment on how the following make Brighton & Hove the best Local Authority to work for as an AMHP:

  • Quick Police responses to s135(1) requests
  • A selection of bookable transport options for conveyance with clear delegation arrangements
  • Clear protocols with our Trust colleagues to ensure that clients and their carers receive NHS support whilst they await an inpatient bed.
  • Strong partnership working and an emphasis on preventative work
For an informal discussion, in the first instance please contact Richard D\'Souza, General Manager Adult Social Care,
