Our friendly, RCVS accredited practice has been providing outstanding care for pets and farm species in Devon and Cornwall for over 65 years. We're now looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon that's keen to be part of our dedicated team - plus enjoy all that beautiful Cornwall has to offer!

About us:




We are a large practice with 3 small animal branches and 2 farm branches.The majority of our services are based out of our premises in Callington. We also have fully equipped branches at Looe and Saltash for our clients with pets


We work up medical & surgical cases, with very good relationships with local referral practices.

The Role:



Salary - 44,000 - 60,000 depending on experience and further qualifications Permanent, full-time position (must include Fridays) 4 and a half day weeks and participation in Saturday rota Based at our Callington, Saltash & Looe branches - negotiable Occasional OOH in-patient care


The role includes all the usual Small Animal Vet duties and we're looking for someone able to take sole charge with the experience and confidence to deliver outstanding client service. You will also enjoy mentoring/guiding our new and recent graduates - we are a supportive bunch and want everyone to thrive in their roles.

A little more about us:




We are a team of 8 vets (hoping to become 9), some part-time, some full-time. We're also lucky to have a very large support team of exceptional nurses and receptionists. We have a diagnostic imagining certificate holder, one person currently doing their medicine certificate, a dental dweeb (special interest in dentistry) and multiple nurses with special interests and some studying for extra qualifications.


Our weekly clinical meetings promote the team ethos - we help each other and work exceptionally well as a team!


It's not all work and no play - our down time is valuable and at Calweton Vets we have a great family atmosphere with lots of social activities planned throughout the year.

We are extremely lucky to enjoy such a fantastic location with superb history and lots to do.East Cornwall is close to hundreds of beautiful beaches, coastal walks and only about 10 miles from gorgeous Dartmoor.
