Requirements
Clydesdale locality within South Lanarkshire covers the largest geographical area of the four Locality Area\'s at 512.10 square miles. Clydesdale has a population of 61,862 of which 22.6% are aged 65 and over, with a higher percentage of aged 75 and over (10%) in comparison with the rest of South Lanarkshire.
Although Clydesdale has several urban centres such as Lanark, Carluke, Lesmahagow, Biggar, Forth and Douglas it is the most rural part of South Lanarkshire with 42% of the population living in a rural area where issues such as transport, access to services and rural deprivation can have a marked effect.
Given the local geography and demographic factors, Health and Social Work teams in Clydesdale were already working in partnership prior to the implementation of Health and Social Care Integration. As such we have long established professional multi-agency working networks and processes that support our person-centred approach to supporting our vulnerable citizens.
The successful applicant will be part of the Locality Adult and Older People\'s Service Management Team. You will be responsible for the management of a team of Occupational Therapy staff within the Physical Disability & Sensory Impairment (PDSI) Team, who provide functional assessment relevant to aids and adaptations for adults to live independently. You will provide professional support and supervision to allocated and duty worker staff. As the role has focus on promoting independence via advice and assistance, there will be requirement for budget management and monitoring while considering social work legislation such as Self-directed Support, Adult Support & Protection, etc.
This is an opportunity for either an experienced occupational therapist or an existing manager who wishes to extend their knowledge and experience within the team. The priorities for the manager will to be to deliver a quality service through supervision based on Behaviours Framework, support of the team and by managing the local office budgets. Regular supervision on an 8-week cycle is provided by the Fieldwork Manager with professional supervision also available via Lead Professional within the HSCP. Full support will be offered to the post holder by the HSCP Adult and Older People\'s Services Management Team.
The successful applicant appointed to the vacant Clydesdale PDSI Team Leader post with salary \xc2\xa344,309 - \xc2\xa344, 966 will have the option, within the first twelve months in post, to apply internally for Clydesdale PDSI Operation Manager post with salary \xc2\xa346,298 - \xc2\xa350, 659 as part of planned South Lanarkshire HSCP Adult & Older Peoples Service Redesign. This post will have additional responsibilities however service aim is to also implement OT Senior Practioners roles for experienced OTs who will take over some management tasks as well as complex casework and provide support regarding staff and team development remit.
All applicants must be registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC )and hold a Degree in Occupational Therapy qualification or equivalent.
Responsibilities
The post requires the successful candidate to be SSSC registered. The successful applicant would be required to undertaken Non Personal Police Vetting level 2 as part of a requirement to use ViSOR.
ViSOR Vetting
South Lanarkshire Justice Services require all successful applicants to undertake Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of level 2. This is due to the requirement to access the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR ) information system.
Foreign Police Check
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.

Regulated Work with Protected Adults
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
