Laker Vent is a leading mechanical contractor operating within the engineering construction industry. We specialise in the installation of highly regulated process piping systems, delivering high-quality solutions for blue-chip clients across the Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, and Petrochemical sectors.
Purpose of the Role
To take responsibility and be accountable for performing all site safety functions on engineering and construction projects, ensuring full compliance with company procedures, regulations, and legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
Control the Permit to Work (PTW) with Construction Manager.
Control & Maintain Site Safety File.
Carry out safety inspections and report findings in writing weekly to site management with a copy to LVE QA H&S Director.
Ensure that legal and statutory requirements of health and safety, including codes of practice, are followed and in cases of imminent danger, suspend the operation.
With consultation with the LVE Site Manager and Supervisors, produce risk assessments and method statements for the execution of the safe execution of the mechanical scope of works.
Ensure the Company policy and procedures are being implemented on site.
Review all subcontractors' safety procedures before they commence work on site, to advise on adequate resources being allocated and make recommendations as required.
Maintain best practices on safety awareness on site by means of safety campaigns, training, and safety incentives.
Investigate accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and maintain a record of site accident statistics, identifying trends and taking remedial action.
Report in writing using the LVE audit form incorporating photographs and identifying both good and unacceptable practice

Carry out safety TBT's.
Skills and Experience
5 years' experience in a similar H&S role on construction sites.
Adequate IT skills to for fill the role in full.
A good understanding of H&S practices.
A minimum NEBOSH certificate or higher.
