Ave of 40.5 hrs per week, 4 on, 4 off shift roster, 05:30 - 17:30 hrs

Salary -

30,300.52 per annum

At Arriva TrainCare we provide high quality overhaul, maintenance and servicing of passenger rolling stock, locomotives, freight wagons and track plant. We operate throughout the UK from six strategic locations - Crewe, Bristol, Eastleigh, Cambridge, Tyne Yard and Scarborough.

What You'll Do:



Focal point for communications on controlling train movements on site. Operate / Drive traction units on site. Ensure efficient throughput of vehicles to enable smooth and safe operation of the depot. Carry out general shunting duties, doupling and uncoupling of vehicles / units and the operation of hand points of stabling and commissioning vehicles. Ensure the safe operation of all depot protection systems in accordance with laid down procedures. Liaise and manage TOC and FOC drivers whilst they are on Depot. Where necessary training and competency requirements have been met, operate plant and equipment as required to meet the needs of the business. Ensure all documentation / paperwork issued relating to the work being carried out is correctly and fully completed. Assist maintenance staff in carrying out their duties Act as Designated Person of your work area. Mentor and develop other members of the team to carry out the DP role. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

What You Bring:



Qualifications -

good standard of education

Experience -

previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities with a strong knowledge of safety procedures

Knowledge -

understanding of health, safety and environmental standards
