Craigie's Farm Deli and Cafe is in the beautiful countryside between Queensferry and Edinburgh, but we are just 20 minutes from the city centre so have the best of both worlds!

We are one big happy family running a farm growing amazing fresh food, making fantastic goodies in our kitchens and bakery and just love showing lots of people around the farm.

John and Kirsteen don't like standing still, the family opened a wee farm shop at West Craigie over 30 years ago, the team have grown this into the best farm shop and cafe in the area. We have grown even more and have recently opened an exciting new toy shop, 150-seater cafe, play barn, animal shed and party rooms. If you get bored of human company, there are lots of friendly farm animals happy to share your lunch in return for a natter and they don't speak back to you.

Who we are looking for



We are looking for an amazing, fun, enthusiastic, experienced, committed person with a great eye for detail to head up our growing retail team.

This is full time position with a great shift pattern and flexible hours, weekend work (min of one day per weekend) is required however there is no evening work.

The successful applicant should have previous experience of working within a busy progressive environment.

Do you cut it?



Confidently manage and motivate the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency.

Manage and understand a stock control system ensuring that stock is kept up to date and ordering is carried out in a timely and controlled manner.

Be data driven by using sales information to facilitate planning and forecast sales.

Creative merchandising and excellent attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Previous experience in retail, preferably food retail.

Excellent customer service skills being able to proactively deal with customer enquiries, face to face, email and on social media.

Take pride in maintaining high standards and open to continual

personal development.

The business stuff



Our current retail turnover is 2m, we are looking to double this in the next couple of years.

The shop has a floor area of around 200sqm which includes a deli counter and butchery counter.

Soft fruit accounts for 25% of our sales and the shop floor covers 40,000sqm sales come under the remit of the Retail Manager, the farm manager grows the best strawberries in the area.

The new toy shop is 50sqm and is jammed packed with lots of rural themed toys and goodies.

Our online shop is less than two years old and has massive potential, the shop floor for our online is massive, think yourself lucky that you don't need to mop it as part of your job!
