Eco modular and panelised building specialist Pod Space are expanding their joinery and installation team. Pod Space is an internationally recognised, multiple award-winning design and build company working with some high profile clients. We are constantly expanding our impressive client list and currently have projects across a wide range of commercial, public sector and residential schemes UK wide.
The Role:
We are looking for someone to help out with projects on an ad-hoc, self employed part time basis. Hardworking, conscientious and reliable semi-skilled and skilled shopfitters / joiners with a keen eye for detail. Experience in first and second fix joinery is essential and skills such as EDPM roofing and window/glass fitting are desirable.
There is also an opportunity for some factory based work within this role.
Applicants will need to be able to work remotely as a large part of the role will be primarily working away, Monday to Friday.
Typically 40+ hours
Subsistence is paid for nights worked away.
Time spent travelling to site is paid.
The principle day to day responsibilities are:
Working away on sites UK wide, Monday to Friday
Delivery, assembly and completion of modular eco buildings which are pre-constructed by our factory bench joiners into modular elements.
Finishing works to very high standards with pride, accuracy and attention to detail.
Daily ongoing liaison and communication with the design team.
Day to day customer / site communications.
Hotels arranged whilst working away with subsistence paid.
Key skills, knowledge and attributes:
A good understanding of construction, ideally with a qualification in joinery.
Site joinery experience required and ability to work to a programme / deadlines.
CSCS card desirable.
Must be trustworthy, honest and reliable.
Motivated and professional with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent knowledge of construction methods and materials and a keen eye on the detail.
Able to read and work from technical construction drawings
Ability to solve problems and raise critical information with efficiency and liaison with appropriate personnel.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Some work will be within our clients homes so clean and tidy work and a respect for property is essential.
Plastering experience is desirable but not essential.
A DBS check will be necessary.
Driving license.
