Shipping Disputes Solicitor
Job Description
This is a 12 month maternity cover with a leading defendant insurance law firm, currently seeking a defendant solicitor to join the Bristol office to work in the specialist marine and shipping team.
Your role will include advising on shipping law in a wide range of jurisdictions to clients such as:
- Ship owners
- Charterers
- Brokers
- Insurers
Particular claims you will manage:
- Charter parties
- Bills of lading
- Carriage of goods
- Passenger and crew claims
- Protection and indemnity insurance
- Freight, demurrage and defence
- Personal injury cases
- Medical negligence claims
- Occupational illness
- Disease class actions
Your background:
- Ideally qualified lawyer (either Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive) with minimum of 2 years post qualification
- Defendant background
- Some exposure to Marine and Shipping matters
