The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues. Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Shift Manager in our Machine Shops. This role will involve managing a team of 6 and ensuring that high performance is maintained in the 2 Machine Shops. Role Responsibilities

• Manage aspects of the team and ensure KPIs are achieved.

• Lead the team to success through planning, monitoring, and appraising work results. Initiating, co-ordinating, and implementing systems, company policies & procedures.

• Maintain high quality standards.

• Lead the team in adhering to all Healthy and Safety legal requirements, maintaining a safe working environment.

• Maintain staff levels and create a flexible and skilled work force.

• Suggest and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure all equipment is monitored for efficiency and potential maintenance requirements.

• Undertake risk assessments.

• Create lift plans.

• Present regular and ad hoc reports.

About You The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.

• 
  Experience working as a professional supervisor within a manufacturing/production environment.

• 
  Proficiency in using various software packages, including Microsoft Office suite.

• 
  A strong knowledge of HSE regulations and a focus on safety.

• 
  Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve positive results.

Days/Hours of Work Average of 37.5 hrs per week - Mornings: 6am - 1:00pm Mon - Friday. Afternoons: 1pm - 8:00pm Mon - Friday. Nights: 8pm - 6:00am Monday - Thursday. Reasons to work at Sheffield Forgemasters
