Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh. This is a full-time permanent position working an average of 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts between 9am and 9pm.

The role:

• Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
• To deliver routine maintenance and general duties as allocated by management
• Carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the site, this will also include Grounds and Gardens work and manual labouring tasks
• Carry out PAT testing following training completion
• Carry out general duties including relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms
• To cover for other team members when needed
• Working 12 hour, 4 on, 4 off shifts between the hours of 09:00 and 21:00 with participation in the on call rota, and working overtime as required

The person:

• Previously have worked in the maintenance or building services industry
• Good understanding of installation and maintenance techniques with basic plumbing and carpentry skills
• Will be proficient in minor repairs
• Ability to manage workload and plan day effectively
• Desirable to have previous experience in a healthcare environment
• IT literate, and ambition for personal development
• Valid driving licence essential for driving company vehicles
• Able to work on own initiative with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.
• Able to demonstrate strong communication and client relationship skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work within a multi-disciplinary maintenance team or alone
