We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented engineers to join our dynamic team. To carry out the maintenance of vessels and manufacturing lines to run efficiently and continuously. To reduce breakdown times by planning and executing PPM and correcting root cause. This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with various stakeholders on-site.
The Role
Complete and taking accountability for maintenance activities (planned and unplanned)
Support and promote continuous improvement activities
Provide 'Breakdown' service to ALL operational departments, actively use 'Fault finding' techniques and lean methodologies (ie 5 Why's) to identify the RCA - and take responsibility to implement corrective actions.
Complete all necessary documentation regarding maintenance activities
Utilise external resource, where appropriate, to obtain services/components, generating, completing and obtaining the appropriate documentation and approval to proceed (e.g. Purchase Orders, spares requests, quotations, etc).
Monitor and control spares in an efficient manner using companies' procedures.
Upgrade and improve equipment as appropriate.
Support engineering management to develop clear and accurate maintenance tasks / records
Drive improvements within the maintenance team to maximise efficiency within the Production and Maintenance departments to Lean the process, eliminating or reducing waste and/or non-value adding activities.
Have experience and actively support lean activities within the department ie 5s workplace organisation.
Organise and carry out training and / or instruction of engineering apprentices, fellow engineers and non engineering staff.
Provide cover for team members as required.
Work on projects as defined by engineering management.
Weekend cover in rotation with the team (approx. 7 weekends per year) paid at overtime rates.

The successful applicant will have the following
Experienced Multi-skilled engineer with a good understanding of electrical systems, controls and automation.
Must have experience with electrical fault findings & PLCs
Minimum NVQ level 3 / HNC in one or more Engineering discipline
Previous experience working in an industrial mechanical / electrical maintenance role including planned and preventative maintenance, within a FMCG manufacturing environment
Proactive logical approach to problem solving utilising RCA and lean manufacturing techniques
Ability to work to critical timelines.
Effective communication skills & demonstratable team working experience.
