Shift Engineer

Shift Pattern:

4on4off (2 days, 2 nights)

Job Purpose

To maintain and improve plant performance in a safe and proficient manner

Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Respond to breakdowns effectively prioritising support in conjunction with supervisor Carry out maintenance and repairs to all equipment as required. Help ensure appropriate stock levels of critical replacement parts. Work with contractors using all necessary company procedures. Take corrective action when necessary. Communicate effectively with, and support production departments with advice and information to maintain the effective running of the equipment. Make recommendation and carry out work to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Play an active part in training and self-development to ensure effective support for production. Ensure that all chemicals are food safe and stored appropriately. Occasional requirement to temporarily to stand in for Shift Supervisor. Various Health and Safety responsibility including bringing to attention any hazards or unsafe conditions, and preventing accident occurrence Food safety and quality responsibility in line with policy, Good Manufacturing Practice and Clean as You Go practice

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Level 3). Ideally multiskilled. Minimum 2 years' experience as a time served Engineer within a manufacturing/maintenance setting (food sector desirable) Good computer literacy

Recognised H&S qualification - IOSHH Food Safety awareness - HACCP PLC Knowledge (Siemens S7, Mitsubishi) Inverter knowledge (Lenz, Mitsubishi, ABB) Robots (ABB) PUWER Supply of machinery regulations 2008
