An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated, tenacious and experienced manager with a passion for service delivery and improvement to provide management and support to Heath Street Health Centre.

You will be a part of the Primary Care Community and Therapies GP Practice team supporting service delivery across the directorate.

You must have an excellent track record of day to day performance management and operational delivery and experience of leading service improvement.

You must be capable of working across a wide range of partners and be able to be flexible to meet competing demands. Your personal skills should include the confidence and interpersonal skills to work with clinical, managerial and support staff at all levels across the system to drive forward innovative solutions that improve our patient care.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Directorate General Manager, the post holder will be a key member of the newly formed GP Practice Directorate within the Primary Care Community and Therapies Clinical Group. The role will be required to work across the Directorate in the day-to-day operational running of the Directorate, which includes site management responsibilities at Heath Street Health Centre, supporting the Practice in the strategic management of targets and day-to-day operational management support.

You will have responsibilities for designated areas in which the post holder will maximise income potential and will support the management of resources to ensure efficient utilisation of these.

Role involves working closely with Doctors, Nurses and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for the operational management and day-to-day delivery of identified services.

Experience
Essential
  • Recent general management experience in the NHS with, responsibility for operational matters including, staff management, budgetary responsibility, performance targets, waiting list management, discharge arrangements.
  • Proven experience of service development.
  • Proven experience of change management ability
  • Experience of leading projects.
  • Significant experience with clinical information systems
Desirable
  • Development / implementation of Governance systems and procedures
  • Recent management experience within a GP practice with responsibility for operational matters, including, staff management, performance targets

Birmingham as a place to live and work

Birmingham and the borough of Sandwell are great places to live. City Hospital and the Midlands Metropolitan Hospital site are close to Birmingham City Centre and the popular suburbs of Edgbaston, Bearwood, Harborne and. Moseley. There are six towns that serve Sandwell, they are Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury, and West Bromwich. Each have their own individual character and attractions. There are a huge range of places to live with easy access via road or public transport all serving the Trust sites well.
