As a Service Charge Accountant, you'll find yourself working with a team of talented people who are committed to driving financial improvement, scalability, and customer experience. As part of the Service Charge team, the role will be varied and challenging, supporting a large property management team.
You will be required to prepare client service charge accounts for a portfolio of properties, in accordance with current legislation, regulation and service level agreements, and proactively partnering the Property teams.

What will you do?
Produce annual service charge accounts working with key budget holders and the Group's external auditors; in accordance with current legislation and industry body requirements.
Producing high quality Service Charge reporting on a quarterly basis, with valuable variance analysis.
To partner Property teams and ensure there is a fitting commentary for all accounts that will promote the right level of customer understanding.
To attend meetings as required with key parties to share information and resolve any client account queries.
Liaison and coordination with External parties (including auditors, directors);
To carryout weekly/monthly reconciliations using the property management system to ensure cleansed data for year-end accounts.
Resolution of queries from both internal and external stakeholders meeting SLA deadlines, identifying and recommending any process improvements where appropriate.
Support the Service Charge Manager by providing information to deal with S20b (late accounts) and requests from customers for supporting documentation.
What are we looking for?
Practical experience in core accounting and working as part of a finance team
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisation skills.
Great communication skills, particularly in terms of presenting financial information to non-finance people, both verbally and in writing.
Flexible with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
Good time management and organisation skills.
Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload to strict deadlines.
IT literate, with particularly competence in spreadsheets/Excel (advanced) and finance systems.
Strong interpersonal skills.

AAT/CIMA/QBE
Service charge accounting experience
Property Industry experience
