Type: Permanent Role \xe2\x80\x93 1st 2 years graduates complete the GDP structured training programme in addition to day job. As part of the GDP there are biannual pay reviews in years 1 & 2.

Summary of Role:

As a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of engineers on exciting products and technology, growing your technical knowledge and developing your engineering skillset.

The initial 2-year training programme will include working rotations with each of the main manufacturing engineering teams, and you will also join our established Graduate Development Programme which will provide personal development skills, networking opportunities and an enjoyable learning environment.

This role is ideal for enthusiastic and ambitious mechanical engineering graduates who are keen to further their career, learn about new technology and become part of a high performing team.

Main Duties:

  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplined manufacturing team
  • Support the development of new manufacturing processes and products
  • Work with cutting-edge technology and be part of our Industry 4.0 transformation
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes
  • Problem solving and continuous improvement projects
  • Manufacturing process design and flow
  • Tooling and fixture design, development and fabrication
  • Process equipment support and maintenance
  • Process programming and machine capability assurance
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting
  • Generate manufacturing documentation, risk assessments and improvement activities
Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Minimum 2.2 undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree where Mechanical Engineering has been studied (degree already achieved or will complete by 2nd September 2024)

120 UCAS points achieved through A Level/AS Level e.g. BBB/ABC/A*CC A Level grades or equivalent e.g. Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, BTEC etc achieved through qualifications completed before attending university.

Desirable:
  • Experience within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
  • A passion for manufacturing excellence: getting it right first time, improving and effective problem solving, deploying new techniques and technologies
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing process or design techniques
  • Membership of University club or other extra-curricular organisations (such as Scouts, Guides, Sports teams, Army Reserves or Air Cadets etc)

Raytheon UK partner with an external training provider and our in-house training teams to deliver excellent training to support on-boarding into the company and build the foundations to a successful career with us. Training focuses on building company connections, communication skills, developing leadership skills and career coaching and development. Graduates have the opportunity to learn real business skills such as project management, supply chain and strategy in addition to receiving a strong support network from current/former graduates and their team members. Graduates have the opportunity to build their skills, contacts and experience through a range of activities from working on real projects to joining our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), attending company and Early Careers events.
