Senior/principal Landscape Planner

Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom

Job Description

Senior/Principal Landscape Planner

RPS is looking for experienced Landscape Planner(s) to join our team at Consultant, Senior or Principal level. Working both independently and as part of a team you will support the successful delivery of projects at all scales, across a wide range of sectors, throughout the UK to deliver projects that form part of the UK\'s response to climate change, housing and infrastructure challenges.

We are working on some of the most exciting Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK and internationally, including large scale energy projects - think GW rather than MW! - as well as major infrastructure, residential and leisure developments. Our renewables work includes solar, offshore and onshore wind, international interconnector and energy storage projects. Our track record in the renewables, transport and net zero carbon means that we gain repeat business across these sectors.

Our projects are all around you. We define, design and manage projects that create shared value to a complex, urbanising and resource-scarce world. Our people are our success. We need people who share our passion on solving the problems that matter. Here you\'ll find work that is challenging and rewarding, and you\'ll be supported every step of the way.

What you\'ll be doing
Reflecting the range of our work, your work will include site and desk-based work. Typically, your work will include:

Supporting our landscape work on projects for both internal and external clients
Writing and contributing to LVIAs / SLVIAs / TVIAs to support a wide range of projects at all scales, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, typically in the renewables sector
Undertaking site visits and viewpoint photography
Inputting into landscape masterplans and landscape and ecological management plans
Working closely with other colleagues in the Landscape Team, as well as more widely within RPS, including multi-disciplinary colleagues and project teams to deliver projects that form part of the UK\'s response to climate change, housing and infrastructure challenges.

Who we\'re looking for
You will have a degree in Landscape Architecture or related discipline and ideally be a Chartered Member of The Landscape Institute (CMLI) with relevant years of experience applicable to the level you are applying for, and be able to offer the following:

Good report writing and organisational skills
Experience carrying out LVIAs for a range of project scales. Knowledge of, and experience working on, projects in the renewable energy sector would be an advantage
Proficient in AutoCAD and/ or desktop publishing software
Be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under your own initiative to deadlines
Willingness to travel for project work

What\'s in it for you?
We\'re an accredited training provider - from entry level to master\'s degree level professional qualifications in leadership & management and executive coaching & mentoring, we support learning and development for everyone.

A personal development plan and a transparent career pathway puts you in the driving seat of your career and you\'ll be supported as far as you want to go.
We encourage and value different ideas, perspectives, and styles of thinking. We need a mix of experiences and skills to develop the most innovative solutions for our clients. We respect one another and recognise the potential and contribution of everyone. You\'ll be joining a diverse community and a company that puts its people first and prioritises their wellbeing.
We understand the need to work flexibly, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard, we\'re happy to talk about flexible working. This is a workplace that works for you.

A career here is far from ordinary. Here you\'re not a number, you\'re part of the solution.
