Job Description

A long term requirement has arisen for a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Design Engineer to support our client\'s geotechnical Engineering team. In this role, you will provide a wide range of geotechnical design services across all project stages including feasibility studies, ground investigations, geotechnical interpretation, preliminary and detailed design, and construction supervision for geotechnical works.

You will be working on major highways projects, mainly in Ireland and some in the UK. This position is hybrid and falls outside IR35. You must have a UK limited company to apply for this role.

The role

\xc2\xb7Geotechnical data assessment, analysis, geotechnical design, risk assessment modelling and reporting
\xc2\xb7Phase 1 geotechnical and geo-environmental desk studies
\xc2\xb7Phase 2 Ground investigation procurement, supervision, field logging and sampling, monitoring and reporting
\xc2\xb7Undertaking geotechnical design calculations in relations to the preliminary design of foundations slopes and earthworks.
\xc2\xb7Supervising and monitoring of geotechnical related projects for infrastructure and land development projects

Key skills and experience required

\xc2\xb7You will have recognisable experience in undertaking surveys and reporting. You\'ll also be comfortable working alone and as part of a team with the following experience:
\xc2\xb7Strong understanding of UK geology and geotechnical/soil mechanics principles
\xc2\xb7Practical experience of site investigation and laboratory techniques
\xc2\xb7Experience of geotechnical design
\xc2\xb7Experience of site investigation techniques and soil and rock logging and use of associated software and analysis tools
\xc2\xb7Computer literacy in MS Office suite and ideally geotechnical reporting, design software and 3D modelling
\xc2\xb7Enthusiastic team player willing to undertake site as well as office-based work
\xc2\xb7Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
\xc2\xb7Experience working on Highways projects

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc/MSc in Engineering Geology or Earth Science with an Engineering Masters.
\xc2\xb7Membership of appropriate body (i.e. Institution of Civil Engineers/Geological Society) and nearing chartered status
