Senior Youth Worker (part-time) (fixed term contract)

Post: Senior Youth Worker (Part-time )

Hours: 20 hours per week - flexibility as to days is required.

Includes some evenings and the possibility of some weekend working.
28 days holiday (pro-rata) including bank holidays

Salary: 16.17 per hour (16816.80 per year)
Reasonable and agreed expenses will be paid.
Option to contribute to pension scheme

The Role:
Due to expansion of the work of the Sprowston Youth Engagement Project (SYEP) we are looking for two suitably experienced senior youth workers to assist (and deputise for) the Youth Operations Manager and team of staff, volunteers and external agencies to support, develop and deliver its projects in helping young people (age 13 - 24 years) through the provision of a range of activities that develop their social, physical, mental and spiritual capacities, promoting self-worth, independence, a sense of responsibility and respect for others.

What we need:

The applicant will be expected to have experience of working within the youth work field and hold level 2 or 3 youth work qualification or equivalent. You will need a high level of resilience and adaptability with developed listening and verbal skills, an enthusiasm and passion for young people and communities with the ability to build and promote healthy, positive lasting relationships with young people. Experience of staff and volunteer management, working with external agencies, budgeting and administrative duties such as report writing is required. One of the posts also needs practical knowledge of social media.

The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and an understanding of safeguarding is a key requirement.
