Our Utility Accounting department ensures that our clients never pay more than they should \xe2\x80\x93 validating every element of utility invoicing. This includes electricity, gas, heat and water.
Within Utility Accounting, we\xe2\x80\x99re on a mission to be a trustworthy extension of our clients\xe2\x80\x99 business; supporting their financial, environmental and reporting goals by empowering them with the utility data we\xe2\x80\x99ve collated and cleansed.
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a Senior Analyst who can bring their expertise to our clients; owning their client deliverables and reporting while providing excellent customer service and always exceeding expectations.
As a Senior Analyst you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring your expertise to the team to enable them to grow and flourish. This could mean mentoring the analysts or coordinators in areas that they require support, coaching them if they become stuck on a problem or helping develop and grow them through supporting the development of onboarding plans or personal development plans.
As a Senior Analyst you\xe2\x80\x99ll also be looked to as a role model in the team \xe2\x80\x93 demonstrating exemplary behaviors that align with our values and setting excellence in technical standards.
As a senior member of the team, you will also assist the department manager with managerial duties and task \xe2\x80\x93 this could be anything from running team meetings, delegating and organising workloads, leading on team projects to deputising in the managers absence.
What will you be doing?
Provide a Utility Accounting service to strategic Amber clients, often with complex portfolios:
Delegate invoice data collation to co-ordinator colleagues to ensure data completeness
Validate clients\xe2\x80\x99 utility invoices to ensure they\xe2\x80\x99re only paying correct charges
Raise any billing queries with suppliers and progress through to resolution
Ensure your clients\xe2\x80\x99 database is up to date and follow internal processes if not
Produce and send client monthly or annual reporting to deadline, with value-add commentary
Liaise with your clients\xe2\x80\x99 Client Success Manager to understand their utility budget strategy, produce budget reporting and follow up reporting required e.g. invoiced vs budget cost analysis
Create and maintain a healthy relationship with clients and suppliers
Produce other reporting, as required by your clients:
Annual Available Supply Capacity reviews
Accrual reporting
Payment authorisation files
Additional ad hoc reporting, as required by the business or your clients
Relationship management;
Producing high quality outputs is paramount for client satisfaction. To ensure that delivery outputs meet high client expectations is it key that you work collaboratively with other departments; collating, sharing and communicating information to ensure that we truly understand clients needs and wants, and are consistent in our delivery approach.
Continuous improvement:
It\xe2\x80\x99s our team mission to work under an umbrella of experience, knowledge and continuous improvement. You will use your existing industry and your Amber experience to drive improvement within our systems, processes and internal ways of working.
Use your knowledge of bill validation, the industry and your experience to complete Quality Assurance, ensuring no unavoidable invoice data gaps and 100% data accuracy.
Facilitating new business:
If Amber win new business or introduce a new service, you will be able to onboard that client into the team by agreeing Utility Accounting processes with the client and where required support colleagues to manage that client
Supporting the development and performance of the team:
You\xe2\x80\x99ll take an active role in mentoring the team and helping to develop their capabilities. This could be through technical mentorship, or a more reflective coaching style, but in doing so you\xe2\x80\x99ll help raise the overall capabilities of the team as well as setting technical standards.
Sharing knowledge:
Within the Utility Accounting team we believe in sharing experience and knowledge across senior and junior levels. You will use yours to coach and mentor junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and enabling Amber clients\xe2\x80\x99 service
Support and deputise for management, as required:
This could include, but is not limited to, recruitment, covering tasks usually completed by management e.g. KPI reporting, representing Utility Accounting at internal or external meetings
Support the development of process improvement and manage documentation in adherence to company procedures
Support the business as and when required
What does good look like?
You have a minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 utilities experience in a similar role
You have a minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 utilities customer service experience
You are highly organised and efficient
You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
You can utilise bill validation software and pick up new software quickly (training provided)
You can coach, mentor and facilitate the growth of junior members of staff
You are a confident and clear communicator able to simplify jargon into client friendly responses
You can work in a fast-paced environment with an exceptional work ethic
You are a role model of the company values within the team
