Transport Planner

Purpose:

To support the Transport Team

Reporting Lines:


You will report into the Transport Manager

Focus areas of the role:


The success of the role will be measured against the effective implementation of the following focus areas:

Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules efficiently, ensuring jobs are completed on time and the most cost-effective way.

Process job schedules and reactive job requests from Account Managers and customers.

Maintain up-to-date records in our transport management system (Syrinx) and prepare jobs for invoicing.

Provide excellent communication with drivers throughout their shift.

Respond promptly to any issues, including breakdowns or delays.

Ensure compliance with all transport regulations and company policies.

Ensure health and safety requirements are met across the department with improvement where possible.

A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan

Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year

Raise all movement orders for Plant machinery, ensuring movement orders are in place prior to delivery of the products that fall within STGO.

Basic knowledge of Plant

Good geographical knowledge of the UK

Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Work and Outlook

Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment

Customer focus on delivery performance
