BAT UK IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR TRADE TRANSFORMATION MANAGER

SENIORITY LEVEL: Senior Management

FUNCTION: Marketing

REPORTS TO: Commercial Director UK&I

LOCATION: Chiswick, London

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

  • Drive the marketing strategy and trade transformation pathway definition in a highly complex multi-category environment
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of the trade marketing strategy for BAT UK in line with the global and local marketing strategy.
  • Ensure the necessary infrastructure and processes to deliver brand and trade programmes to meet both business and customer segment requirements.
  • Identify areas of gap and opportunities in the new multicategory context by Channel (I&S and KA) and Geography enabling Business Transformation (RTM, B2B, TCI etc.)
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
  • To establish a trade marketing strategy in accordance with the overall company vision and strategy. Contribute to the overall marketing strategy and plan by integrating the brand & consumer segment strategies into the trade marketing & distribution strategy
  • To develop a trade marketing plan which will maximise the company\'s brand share, volume and profitability objectives in each of the trade marketing channels:
  • Independent and Symbols
  • Groceries
  • Convenience
  • Distributives
  • Other Channels
  • Develop and refine the route to market strategy:
  • Distribution structure/ model, resources and budget requirements, trading terms, credit risk and
  • customer pricing guidelines
  • Approach to implement trade and brand programmes within POS
  • Propose changes based on market review
  • Design evolution of B2B in a multicategory context and evolved strategy
  • Guide Trade Insights generation to drive Trade transformation within the new Market and Marketing context
  • Champion innovation in Trade programmes in order to achieve competitive advantage (RTM and Category Management)
  • Act as a key point of reference with key relevant stakeholders in the new WE set up
  • Assess and re - define where needed trading terms and conditions for investment in channels, accounts and outlets to ensure company growth and profitability objectives are achieved.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the Commercial Director for Trade Back Office activities (RTM, B2B, Planning and Trade insights\xe2\x80\xa6) and coordinate with Sales Team the implementation of Strategy and Cycle activities and with Consumer Experience in order to have an holistic end market plan and execution
  • Define and drive effective ways of working in the new Quantum setting
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Proven Experience in Senior roles in Trade ( RTM, Sales, B2B) in a complex environment (min. 5-10 years) and multicategory
  • Track record of Transformation Programmes (BAT or external)
  • Wide understanding of Company\'s Strategy and Interdependencies with different functions
  • Experience in Brand and Activation enabling fast understanding and integration with Trade needs and plans
  • Financial knowledge enabling articulate Business Case, gap analysis, TCI and Margins elaboration
  • Highly collaborative and flexible
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to manage different stakeholders at various level
  • Proven experience leading complex extended teams by inspiring and motivating them in navigating complex, ambiguous environments
