The Opportunity





We are currently seeking talented Senior Track Engineer staff to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering a portfolio of exciting, varied rail projects as part of an established and expanding Rail Business across the UK. You will be part of a team responsible for the successful delivery of our design commissions for our major clients including Network Rail, Translink, Nexus, HS2, Contractors and other agencies. Current high profile projects include Trans Pennine Route Upgrade, Depot remodelling, Signalling renewals, Station Upgrades, Washington Metro Loop, Rail Systems Framework with Translink, and numerous ES1-4 commissions for Network Rail and National Transport Bodies.



Ensuring the successful management and delivery of technically excellent multidisciplinary rail projects and bids across our UK Rail portfolio, we are looking for Senior Track Engineer with established and developing experience to be an integral part of our UK Rail Systems team with a motivation to tackle interesting problems, finding innovative solutions and to deliver meaningful work with successful client outcomes.


You will have the freedom to work independently, managing your own personal development utilising our in house and external training opportunities. As we foster a strong development culture across our business, you will also be involved in mentoring more junior staff.






Is this role right for you?





The position offer scope for personal skill development, especially in relation to increasing multidisciplinary engineering design management and advisory experience. The focus will be on developing existing engineering design management skills and the collaborative integration of multidisciplinary designs, in a stimulating and challenging project environment. Reporting to your Team Leader and supported by our discipline Technical Heads you will work with our rail design teams throughout bid and project stages. You will also develop relationships with our wider engineering community and our client's engineering and project teams.






Requirements




Substantial hands-on experience of production and checking of outline and detailed track designs and calculationS. Experience in the use of track design software packages (OpenRail, PowerRail). Able to work without supervision for the work and supervise junior staff. Good Design Manager within track engineering teams or project teams and discipline leader within other Railway multidisciplinary projects. Committed to quality, accuracy, timeliness and efficiency in delivering track engineering technical requirements. Experience in the application of Construction Design Management CDM and CSM. Chartered Engineer with their Professional Institution or working towards professional qualification with a relevant professional body e.g. IEng/CEng MPWI/MICE
