Senior Technical Officer Peatlands (x2 roles) Salary: \xc2\xa332,904 - \xc2\xa335,947. Access to employer s contributory pension scheme - maximum of 8% per annum. Hours: Full-time hours 37.5 hours per week. Will require some weekend and evening work. Location: Role 1: Ulster Wildlife Offices, 10 Heron Road, Belfast, BT3 9LE. Role 2: An Creag\xc3\xa1n Visitor Centre, 186 Barony Rd, Omagh Co.Tyrone BT79 9AB. A combination of office and home-working will be considered. There will be regular travel across Northern Ireland and occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland. Contract: Permanent. This post is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Leave: 24 days per annum plus 12 days statutory holidays rising to 26 days following three years service. Reporting to: Head of Peatland Recovery. Ulster Wildlife is scaling up its peatland restoration services and also establishing a Peatlands Collaborative and Technical Network comprising a range of stakeholders. The Network will support DAERA in the delivery of the Northern Ireland Peatland Strategy, helping to maximise the contribution of peatlands to Northern Ireland s net zero journey and help to halt and reverse the decline of biodiversity. The Technical Team will work to plan, design, implement, review and evaluate future peatland restoration conservation action plans and deliver a pipeline of peatland restoration projects within the Network. The plans will also be used for delivering projects by other peatland restoration organisations. The Senior Technical Officers (Peatlands) will provide technical knowledge and expertise to lead the development of peatland restoration plans and support the mentoring of contractors.
