What will you be doing?
As a Residential Senior Support Worker you will be promoting Carbrey's vision and values as you take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home in the absence of the Manager. You will lead a small team in providing excellent care. Each day, you will help create a place where children can thrive; one that's warm, welcoming, safe and calm. Here you will help the children make sense of their past, current, and future circumstances and provide every opportunity for children to achieve their outcomes
The Ideal person will have the following skills and experience -
Passionate and enthusiastic approach to helping young people
An empathetic, people person. Calm, reflective and flexible
Ability to work on your own initiative.
Ability to cope with crisis situations.
Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment.
Must have at least one years' experience of working with individual young people or groups of young people in a residential childcare setting.
Experience of contributing to the development, implementation and review of specific programmes for young people to meet their needs and circumstances
Experience of protecting children from abuse and participating in the evaluation of the risk of abuse to self or others
A safe and inspiring role model for children and young people from traumatic backgrounds
Demonstrate a commitment to participate in recreational activities with children including, where required, taking them on holiday and attending school visits etc.
Ability to motivate and lead staff and colleagues
Is looking for a role with development opportunities and career growth in a young, but fast growing, company
Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential
Enhanced DBS certificate is required.
Must hold or working towards either the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or NVQ Level III - Children and Young People (or a predecessor qualification)
Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends. Ability to commit to a rolling rota pattern plus sleep ins.
inclusive of additional supplement for completing 7 sleep in shifts per month
