Senior Support Worker - Care Team Leader - VARIOUS LOCATIONS
HOURS: FULL TIME - 40 per week
SALARY: 24,876.00 Plus 200 per week completed of On Call.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Charity working with people with Learning Disabilities & Autism.
Within the role you would be leading teams of experienced and dedicated staff on a day to day basis. In addition, the role gives you the opportunity to be involved with the Quality Assurance Monitoring of the Charity and supporting our service users daily making valued contributions to the careful supporting planning process.
You would also be part of an out of hour On Call team, giving support to your staff teams when required.

Job Summary
:
To provide a needs led service to adults and young people with a learning disability by adopting a person-centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES, TASKS & DUTIES
General
1. Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model always.
2. Lead by example.
3. Lead & organise the shift.
4. Provide on call cover as arranged by the Manager, working within on call guidance (a ROTA will be put together by the Manager.
5. Lead and organise transport.
6. Drive charity vehicles and buses, where required and if you have a license.
7. Identify issues and address them at the earliest opportunity.
8. Ensure that staff exhibit a positive attitude and values set out by Ability Care.
9. Uphold standards of behaviour in accordance with all policies.
10. Ensure staff give support that follows individual's care plans and daily support plans.
11. Ensure good team working, motivate, support staff.
12. Support people with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices enabling them to take control of their own lives, increasing independence.
13. Ensure all personal care tasks are carried out in line with the needs, wishes and preferences of the individual, following the care plan.
14. Support people, where appropriate, to take an active role in the community by accessing local facilities and wider community resources in the spirit of social inclusion.
15. Ensure all staff gain consent from service users at all times following the guide lines of the MCA.
16. Ensure the safety of the people in all services.
17. Support the development of person centred planning, ensuring everyone's plan has meaningful and achievable goals.
18. Treat each person with respect and dignity.
19. Work with individuals to promote healthy life style by liaising with local health care professionals.
20. Develop positive working relationships with family and carers.
21. Ensure risk assessments are actioned as necessary, in line with policies and procedures.
22. Be flexible and responsive to meet the changing needs of the service and the service users.
23. Administer medication in line with the policy and the individual's care plans.
24. Team Leader Handover forms to be completed after every shift.
25. Building walk around completed every shift.
26. Work flexibly across all services when on call- arrange emergency cover and cover shifts yourself if you cannot provide safe cover
27. Follow on call procedures and escalation policy at all times.

7. Work closely with other members of the team for the ultimate benefit of the people using Ability's services.
Staff management
1. Leading by example, promote and drive positive behaviours from all staff
2. Adopt an open and approachable attitude with staff.
3. Ensure that they or their teams never use social media or other communication in any manner that would damage the reputation of Ability.
4. Ensure that the Manager is aware of issues that arise.
5. Cascade all communications in a timely manner.
All candidates must have or must be willing to works towards their NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care Qualification.
