A new opportunity has arisen to join the NPI Supplier Quality Engineering team, who are part of the Group Manufacturing Services Division (GMSD) Purchasing Group at Renishaw. As a Senior Supplier Development Engineer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support new product design, supplier development and project management activities with an immediate focus on our CMM (CGPD) and Industrial Automation (IAPD) product lines.
The location could be at our New Mills site (Global HQ) in Wotton-under-Edge or our manufacturing facility in Miskin (North of Cardiff, South Wales) to support machine development and build, as well as IAPD products and departmental strategic initiatives. There will also be an opportunity to support activities on other Renishaw manufacturing sites as well as carrying out supplier visits, mainly in the UK but could potentially involve travelling overseas.

Responsibilities
Working with Design teams to understand critical features and performance requirements
Working with multiple GMSD functions to capture purchased item quality problem statements
Conducting and recording external supplier visits to both develop and manage new/existing supply
Working with Purchasing Buyers to identify and develop new suppliers and follow commodity strategies and mitigate future production supply risks
Working with Goods-In Inspection functions to ensure incoming goods are managed and inspected
Generating reports to present inspection or quality investigation findings
Supporting and/or driving and project managing item development activities
Identifying and communicating opportunities for improved process control and/or DFM-driven cost-down
Ownership of departmental metrics and adhering to targets of defined strategic/profile projects
Engagement with, or ownership of, Early Careers students\xe2\x80\x99 workload and personal development
Key requirements
Any qualifications or experience in an engineering/manufacturing discipline
Professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with stakeholders
Driven, self-motivated and willing to learn and contribute
Desirable requirements
Knowledge of engineering and inspection techniques and equipment
Awareness of quality systems e.g. ISO9001
Person specification
The candidate will need a sound problem solving mindset and a logical approach to varied technical challenges. They will need to be self-motivated and able to learn quickly, work independently and deliver with limited local support; as well as maintain a professional behaviour to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Visiting suppliers is a key requirement so the individual must be prepared for some travel \xe2\x80\x93 UK and abroad.
