Purpose

You will provide structural engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley\' and its customers\', including technical support and supervision within the structural engineering team.

Worley is recruiting a Structural Engineers to join our project team across our UK locations.

Role Overview

The -Structural Engineer is an integral member of the design team. They will provide structural engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support by way of calculations and specifications. Experience in engineering design of concrete and structural steel would be preferred and the successful candidate must be a competent user of StaadPro.

The Structural Engineer will be required to operate within a multidiscipline environment and so strong communication skills to enable effective liaison, both inside the project and externally to clients is essential. Within their area of direct responsibility, they will ensure the technical and commercial execution of the design in accordance with the control estimate, specific requirements of the project schedule and to Worley standards. They must also ensure that the Project\'s Execution documentation requirements are followed, considering any special contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Support our safety culture and to challenge unsafe behaviours

\xc2\xb7 Deliver structural engineering services that meet Worley\xe2\x80\x99s, its customer\xe2\x80\x99s and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications

\xc2\xb7 Deliver the scope of individual responsibility within quality, schedule and budget requirements and facilitate the same throughout the CS and project team

\xc2\xb7 Interface with other disciplines and colleagues both locally and globally to produce structural steelwork and RC calculations to legacy British Standards and Euro Codes

\xc2\xb7 Ensure proper application of technical standards

\xc2\xb7 Work with Designers to realise Engineering Designs

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate and align with multi-disciplinary project groups

\xc2\xb7 Communicate effectively with the civil/ structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer where required

\xc2\xb7 Take part in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures

\xc2\xb7 Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes

\xc2\xb7 Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities e.g. write requisitions

\xc2\xb7 If required conduct technical bid evaluations and assist with purchase orders.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure vendor/ contractor documentation, is reviewed for technical acceptability (when related specifically to CS discipline) or is considered for design impact (e.g. mechanical vendor documentation) where this is part of the area of responsibility

\xc2\xb7 Proactively resolve or assist in resolution of any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer\'s requirements

\xc2\xb7 Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience required

\xc2\xb7 Candidates must as a minimum have a BSc degree (or equivalent) in Civil / structural Engineering

\xc2\xb7 Chartered Professional Engineer (CEng) status or evidence of working towards chartered status

\xc2\xb7 Experience of working within small - medium scope projects within a multidiscipline environment and of delivering work with global teams

\xc2\xb7 Experience of Petrochem EPC/EPCm projects

\xc2\xb7 Experience in both FEED and detailed design

\xc2\xb7 Commercial awareness within professional services environment

\xc2\xb7 A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the civil / structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields and interdependencies between them

\xc2\xb7 A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation including CDM

\xc2\xb7 Competent use of civil/ structural engineering specific software such as STAAD Pro

\xc2\xb7 Experience of working within a multidiscipline 3D model environment

\xc2\xb7 Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, Teams
