The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Structural Engineer to join our team at our office in Manchester to work on the design of some of the most exciting and prestigious construction projects in the UK and internationally. We have a fantastic pipeline of work which includes projects from Manchester, across the UK and around the world.

As part of our established team of expert engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will lead a project team in delivering projects including the preparation of detailed structural calculations, specifications and drawing packages. This will involve all structural materials, and use of appropriate software.

You will work across a variety of sectors such as education, commercial, defence, retail, critical systems, industrial and residential, and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills continue to develop, and as you work and are supported beyond Chartership.

The Skills

Having already been accredited with at MEng degree level (or equivalent) you will be close to being or will have recently become Chartered with IStructE or ICE, you will have gained strong practical experience of structural engineering within a consultancy environment, and a competent level of relevant IT skills including using structural design software such as Tekla, Robot and TEDDS with familiarity of coordinating projects using BIM 360.

You have proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials including steel, reinforced concrete and masonry. Crucially, you will have a passion for creative, sustainable low carbon and intuitive design.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
