Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in estimating costs for various projects, ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously calculated and managed. This role is crucial in supporting our team and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Review drawings, specs, and tender documents to build clear, detailed pricing. Prepare take-offs and measure quantities from models and PDF drawings. Liaise with clients, engineers, and internal teams to clarify scope and requirements. Build in risk, prelims, and programme assumptions into each tender. Track current material and labour rates to ensure competitive pricing. Help develop and maintain our estimating systems and pricing templates. Support business development where required -- including client follow-ups and value engineering ideas.

What We're Looking For:

At least 10 years' experience in steelwork estimating or a similar construction role. Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes, connection details, and sequencing. Confident using relevant tools and software such as Excel, Bluebeam, Trimble Connect, and others commonly used in take-offs and estimating. Excellent communication skills -- both written and verbal -- with the ability to confidently speak to clients, build relationships, and identify potential new opportunities. Ablility to manage multiple tenders at once, work independently, and take ownership of your workload. Practical and hands-on -- someone who's comfortable picking up the phone or heading out to site when needed. A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction is ideal -- but experience and common sense matter more to us.
