We are looking for a senior sports reporter to join us at Express Online to find and report on the stories and issues which matter to our sports fans in a way which ensures as many people as possible find, discover and respond to our work.
We know that sports media across the UK needs to be more representative of the fans who read our journalism. We particularly want to hear from people who feel their voice is not being heard in sports journalism, and who want to play a leading role in helping to shape a more inclusive future for sports journalism.
We are looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home and hub based linked to our London Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London
Job description
What will the role involve?
You will find and tell stories about clubs that engage readers while building communities online and audiences to share published stories with. You will tell stories which will be of interest to sports fans in different ways including live blogs, article format, short and long form video, audio and pictures. All while ensuring that every piece of content is researched and published in accordance with the Editor\'s Code of practice.
As a senior reporter, you will play a key role in the success of your team, and lead the charge when it comes to securing exclusive stories and sought after interviews. This position will involve some weekend and evening working so a flexible approach is required.
Qualifications
Who are we looking for?
You are an experienced NCTJ or equivalent qualified journalist with exceptional media law knowledge. You have experience working within a fast paced national newsroom environment and a strong track record of telling stories accurately, that engage large audiences with a real passion for digital storytelling. You are flexible, inquisitive and are on the pulse of what makes a great story!
Being a sports journalist you will have encyclopaedic sport knowledge, Digital publishing and Social media experience. You\'re comfortable working a content management system (CMS), live blogging, podcasting and have an understanding of audience analytics while having a track record of building communities on social media platforms such as but not limited to Facebook and Twitter.
