Day to day, you'll beDeveloping and maintaining web applications, implementing new features and ensuring the highest level of performance and user experience.
Support agile software development to enable continuous improvement within the team.
Writing modular, clean, testable applications using design principles and patterns.
Significantly contribute to the delivery of the Protection IFA offering.
Contributing to levelling up how we design, build, and operate software at scale within the Bank through the wider engineering community.
Technically mentoring and developing your colleagues, providing clear and constructive feedback through code reviews and design documents.

What you'll need
We like people who come from a diverse group of backgrounds that can bring new and exciting ways of thinking to the team. As a minimum to be considered, we'll need to see evidence of the following in your CV:Significant experience with React and NodeJS.
Strong understanding and experience of designing, building, and operating front end applications (particularly consuming microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems).
Experience with testing libraries such as React Testing Library, SuperTest, and PlayWright.
Confidence with building, testing, and deploying services into a cloud environment.
A DevOps mindset.
Experience mentoring peers and junior engineers.
Strong understanding of web development principles, including JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and responsive design.
Experience with cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Experience designing, building, and operating services using Cloud Native services from any major Cloud provider.
Demonstrated experience collaborating with Product and Design colleagues to drive outcomes for customers.
A good understanding of Git, source code management, and leading change.
Knowledge and experience of agile development practices, continuous integration, and test automation (e.g. TDD, BDD).
Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
Experience of technical guidance and mentoring.
And any experience of these would be really usefulExperience with NestJS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Experience building/maintaining CICD pipelines (Jenkins, GH Actions, etc.).
Familiarity with GCP.
