Job descriptionThe Public Protection Casework Section (PPCS), within HMPPS, is responsible for the management of the parole process and the recall of offenders to custody. Leading on a key Ministerial priority, the Review Team within Post-Release Casework is responsible for exercising the Secretary of State's power to release offenders, following a risk assessed recall review, on the basis of proposed risk management plans being sufficient to ensure the safe management of the offender in the community. The Review Team is also responsible for case-managing the review of recalled prisoners, liaising with prison and probation, handling Parole Board oral hearings, managing the statutory annual review process and applying for Parole Board release decisions to be set aside where new information has become available.Senior Team Managers are expected to have or quickly to acquire a sound understanding of risk assessment and risk management as well as probation practices so that they are able to make informed risk assessments before taking release decisions in individual cases.Additional InformationWorking Arrangements & Further InformationThe MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows.
