As a member of our Reception team, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Receptionist to join our practice in East Yorkshire. This role will give you the opportunity to enhance your skills in a leadership position whilst being front of house delivering exceptional care to our customers. To support you in being successful in your role we offer development opportunities with BVRA programs.


We are looking for someone with outstanding Client Care standards to join us in our new role of Senior Receptionist. The Senior Receptionist is a key role in leading and empowering our Reception team to deliver a gold standard service to our clients, pets and visitors to the practice.


This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. Monday- Friday with occasional Saturday morning when covering holidays.


You will report to, and work closely with your line manager, to lead and support our Reception team.

Welcoming all clients and visitors to the practice. Answering telephones and diverting or taking messages ensuring prompt delivery and accurate details. Monitoring practice email and directing enquiries to the relevant department Accurately inputting patient data to the computer system as required. Dealing with all general enquiries, explaining procedures in place and making new and follow up appointments. Processing repeat prescription requests ,ensuring the pharmacy receive in a timely manner. Advising patients of relevant charges, taking payments and providing receipts and invoices where applicable. Working as a team to assist the Practice Manager in the debt recovery process.

Alongside your day to day duties, your role and responsibilities

will be:



To be efficient, professional, and helpful to all clients, under all circumstances. Assist the Practice Manager in the smooth running of the Reception Team. Continually monitor and respond to client feedback, and with the support of the PM, action any suggestions to improve our service. Implement and communicate any new services to ensure gold standard care is provided. Demonstrate positive leadership to motivate and boost employee morale. Line manage 2 members of the reception team. Build relationships with the clients, demonstrate empathy, and facilitate in delivering an excellent level of service. Work with the reception team, being present on the desk and leading by example. Ensure all customer complaints are dealt with swiftly, efficiently and by the appropriate person.
