Job Description


We are collaborating with a respected, family-owned construction company renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional projects across the commercial, residential, and public sectors. With a strong reputation for quality and integrity, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Central Scotland.Role Overview:As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the commercial aspects of high-value projects. Your responsibilities will include overseeing budgets, procurement processes, and contractual matters while ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and in line with financial and legal standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, negotiating, and analysing cost estimates for project budgets
  • Ensuring sub-contractors are pre-qualified according to company management systems
  • Managing the procurement of sub-contractors and preparing related documentation for sub-contract orders
  • Reviewing and certifying sub-contractor interim payments, ensuring compliance with required notices
  • Advising on various legal and contractual issues, identifying, and managing commercial risks
  • Producing and presenting monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports for ongoing projects
  • Establishing, maintaining, and enhancing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Planning, allocating, and evaluating tasks for teams, individuals, and yourself
  • Supporting the management of the commercial team, supervising and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between the commercial and operational site teams
Key Requirements:
  • Significant experience working on high-value projects within a Tier 1 main contracting environment
  • Proven ability to lead a commercial team and effectively engage with external stakeholders
  • A degree in a relevant subject (preferred, but not essential)
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and organisational skills
