Senior Quantity Surveyor
3-month contract
\xc2\xa325 an hour, umbrella
Inside IR35
36 hours per week
Northwest Leicestershire
office/site based work for a minimum of 3 days a week other 2 are agile.

Main Responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Management of commercial and contractual arrangements associated with refurbishment and reactive repairs type works in Housing Asset Management
• Producing financial reports that monitor monthly progress and predict the likely outcome.
• Preparation and submission of Schedule of works, valuations for works completed in line with contractual arrangements and site visits as necessary.
• Management and maximisation of cashflow to meet Council standards and budgets.
• Producing, with close liaison of the Housing Asset Manager and Housing Assets Team Leader fully detailed subcontract enquiry documentation to accurately reflect the works packages required.
• Management of the procurement process applications and payment of in-house repairs team and subcontractors in accordance with council financial standing orders and procedures
• Measurement, pricing, negotiation, and agreement of costs for varied work, maximising value with a controlled and reasoned approach
• Monitoring and controlling cost against project budgets taking immediate and appropriate action as required.
• Adept at identifying and managing potential risk and opportunity in close collaboration with the Housing Asset Management team.
• Actively promoting a close working team environment to ensure commercial and construction activities are fully integrated.

• Quantity surveying qualification or equivalent at HNC level
• Previous experience of supporting a contract management team in housing refurbishment, maintenance or in the construction industry.
