Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for highways project based in the South Devon area, working for a national highways contractor.

Based in the South Devon area, this highways project will last 10-12 months and requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead on commercial activities for the project.

You will hold experience as a Quantity Surveyor on contractor side delivering projects for local authority clients ideally

Duties include:

\xc2\xb7Providing the commercial function across projects to ensure successful project delivery.
\xc2\xb7Working within a team of talented professionals ensuring co-ordination and provision across all aspects of project delivery.
\xc2\xb7Undertake pre-contract setup, including forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering and procurement (including drafting to negotiating various forms of subcontract).
\xc2\xb7Effectively manage the commercial aspects of the project (or a section of a project) including valuations / applications, budget monitoring, material / plant reconciliation and contract variations / compensation events and change.
\xc2\xb7Prepare, manage and negotiate the agreement of Final Accounts.
\xc2\xb7Procurement and management of subcontract packages, as well as supporting other members of the commercial team in the management of subcontract packages.
\xc2\xb7Produce and maintain, and assist others in producing and maintaining, project forecasts to support the monthly commercial and financial reporting procedures.
\xc2\xb7Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

You will be a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with experience on major projects having worked for major contractors.

Initially the role will be on a contract basis for 10 months with more work in the pipeline with this contractor in the area.
