The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.In this role, you will join the SAP Sovereign Cloud Automation & Tooling team and contribute to the Quality Engineering efforts for the Operations Control Plane (OCP)xe2x80x94a foundational capability responsible for observability, compliance, and policy enforcement in SAPxe2x80x99s regulated cloud environments. You will support the test automation strategy for a WebApp architecture powered by Node.js and React, working closely with engineers, architects, and DevOps experts.As a Senior Quality Specialist, you will help drive high test coverage, maintain automation frameworks, and ensure the quality and compliance of deliverables that meet the unique requirements of Sovereign Cloud.In the role of Senior Quality Specialist, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain test automation for WebApp components developed with Node.js (backend) and React (frontend).
• Contribute to UI, API, and integration testing using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Jest.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and assist in root cause analysis.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for functional, non-functional, and compliance-related scenarios.
• Participate in code and test reviews, QA discussions, and backlog grooming activities.
• Document test strategies, test cases, and quality dashboards.
• Support the implementation of quality gates and early defect detection practices.

What you bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6-8 years of hands-on experience in automated testing of full-stack WebApps, preferably in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript-based testing frameworks for UI and backend automation.
• Experience with Cypress, Playwright, Jest, Mocha, or Supertest.
• Familiarity with RESTful API testing and frontend component testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test integration, and version control (GitHub).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-first mindset.
• Willingness to work in agile, distributed teams with a collaborative attitude.

Nice to have

• Exposure to regulated cloud environments or Sovereign Cloud principles.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, or containerized application testing.
• Knowledge of performance testing, contract testing, or security test tools.
• Familiarity with SAP products, BTP, or compliance processes.
