What will you be doing?

The Strategy Execution team is accountable for enabling the effective and efficient execution of Vodafone UK\'s (VFUK) strategy, including enterprise-wide delivery performance. The Programme Management Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a business-critical capability which drives the performance and quality of business programme delivery through a community of transformation professionals.

As a Senior Programme Manager within VFUK\'s CoE, the role holder will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of their assigned programme of work to time, cost and quality. They will develop and lead programmes which drive the organisation\'s strategic direction through the delivery of agreed business outcomes. The Senior Programme Manager is accountable for ensuring high cross-functional stakeholder satisfaction by making communication easy and transparent, while supporting issue resolution and decision making.

The Senior Programme Manager is expected to be an active member of the business transformation community within the Programme Management Centre of Excellence, supporting the Senior Manager to embed best practice and ensure consistent ways of working are implemented across delivery execution; maximising lessons learnt and creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide the transformation, operational and people leadership required to mobilise and deliver business critical transformation programmes
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned Programmes to time, cost and quality. Accountable for:
  • Delivering the agreed business outcome
  • Following the processes defined by the EPMO
  • Providing timely, clear and transparent visibility of progress
  • Ensuring high cross-functional stakeholder satisfaction
  • Driving programme mobilisation, including requirements definition, programme governance, capital drawdown and Technical/ Functional Expert resource allocation
  • Ensuring that the appropriate structures are implemented to enable the ongoing effective execution of the delivery: design & requirements, solution development, test, solution launch, assurance & oversight, financial tracking, delivery and resource planning, as well as the management of change, risk & issues and dependencies
  • Working with stakeholders across the delivery to ensure they have the support required to deliver to time, cost and quality
  • Escalating issues to the SteerCo and Delivery Portfolio Manager for resolution/management
  • Integrating a best practice/continuous improvement approach to execution which continually seeks to learn lessons and enhance delivery execution - maximising the business value delivered
  • Embed best practice and ensure consistent ways of working are implemented across delivery execution; maximise lessons learnt and create a culture of continuous improvement. Identify thematic challenges to delivery and support the CoE community in seeking their resolution
Who are we looking for?
  • Highly experienced delivery management professional
  • Subject Matter Expert: Project & Programme Management (waterfall & agile) in a complex business transformation change environment
  • The gravitas, credibility, and leadership skills necessary to lead and successfully deliver large, complex, pan-business transformations
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and operate at the senior management level
  • High level of energy and flexibility to get things done and thrive in a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented environment
  • Telecommunications industry experience is desirable, however, we\'re open to wider financial services experience too
